Barb had so many friends and some of those in the Pacific Northwest knew her from meeting her on the trail through the Mountaineers. She loved hiking, the trees, the green, and the mountains so dearly. It was a deep passion of hers just to be out there. I will think of her often when I visit and get on the trail myself. The last trip where I met up with her was on the trail to 2nd Burroughs Mountain in Mt. Rainier--she with a couple of friends, Sandy and their friend (momentarily forgot her name), and me with my sister and another friend, Bev. We had planned to meet somewhere on that trail that day and so we did. Perhaps that is the most fitting memory for me to have of Barb. It was a beautiful day and we all were having a workout that was both tiring and invigorating. She really loved it. She was a very fine person with a very positive outlook that was so engaging.
